Building Strength and Stamina: New Nautilus Training for Total Fitness
Published in Paperback by Human Kinetics Pub (September, 1996)
Authors: Wayne L. Westcott and Natilus International
Average review score:

helpful guide for beginners
This book provides thorough descriptions of the Nautilus line of strength equipment. It also provides a 6 month training program using Westcott's technique of single set exercises for each body part. I have actually worked with Dr. Westcott and have experienced firsthand the positive benefits it yields on previously untrained people. Westcott has done extensive research with the Nautilus equipment and this book passes along what was learned from his studies. It is a good source of information for those looking to get started with exercise and strength training.

The Business Bible: Ten Commandments for Creating an Ethical Workplace
Published in Hardcover by William Morrow (September, 1993)
Author: Wayne, Rabbi Dosick
Average review score:

Inspiring not only for business, but for yourself as well.
This book isn't about how to run a business, but how to run yourself. The first step to success is YOU, and Rabbi Wayne Dosick shows us how we can make ourselves better people through inspiring stories and quotes, and events that he has experienced as well. All is tied in with Christianity, so for those readers who do mind the religious background from which this book was written, then, it may not be for you. There are 10 chapters in the book, one for every commandment, each that teaches a new lesson. Such as the first chapter, titled "Your Ear Shall Hear; Your Eyes Shall See" tells us how we must learn to listen, not just hear what we want to hear, but open our hearts to hear. We have to see beyond our the first initial sight. All of these things not only ties in with people interaction, but they make you a better person... in turn, you serve your people better, as a teamworker, a leader, and a friend. Most of the time, Rabbi Wayne tells us things we already know but have forgotten, and his wisdom and inspiration has truely touched my heart and made me think in a whole new way. Business involves ethics as well as tactics, but this book emphasizes ethics, which is the first thing that we all need to learn and remember.

This book focuses more on the "Bible" than on "Business" so the title doesn't thoroughly depict what you end up reading, although it is an excellent read. If you would like to change yourself, become a better person and become a role model for your company, and set ethical standards for your employees, then this book is for you.

Chemical Principles in the Laboratory

Authors: Emil J. Slowinski, Wayne C. Wolsey, and William L. Masterton
Average review score:

Good introductory chemistry lab book
This book uses removable pages as prelabs which were very good in giving a conceptual idea of the experiments before they were done. Also, there are good flowcharts, equations for every step of the reactions, and formulas to help do the problems. All data that needs to be recorded is clearly mentioned in a form format.

Authors: Susan Smith Jones and Wayne W. Dyer
Average review score:

Great read
I really enjoyed this book. I have read a number of books by Susan Smith Jones, and have learned a lot about a healthy and fulfilled lifestyle from them. It was the kind of book that you could read a little bit at a time, set it down, and pick it back up a few days later.

The Christian Pastor
Published in Paperback by Westminster John Knox Press (December, 1982)
Author: Wayne E. Oates
Average review score:

One Book From College I Still Keep
This book was a required read for my college class, Christian Vocation and Call. It has great insights on the role of a minister's spiritual life, his personal life and his minstry. Blending knoweldge and experience, Oates paints a full picture of the pathway of life for one in ministry. His points are well thought out and his advice practical. This book is a great idea for any young minister to add to his library. You will consult it and use it time after time.

Chronicle of a Small Town
Published in Hardcover by Texas A&M University Press (November, 1989)
Author: Jim W. Corder
Average review score:

Good little read
This slim volume is nostalgic but not at all maudlin. Corder evokes a place (West Texas) and a time (circa 1940) that may be far removed from his readers, but like his other works (including his many scholarly essays), CHRONICLE connects in ways that pay rich dividends. Always the teacher, Corder passes on to his readers something precious about simply seeing things (the landscapes that define his/our inner and outer vistas, for example). The illustrations, from Corder's own hand, are a hoot. May this book stay in print indefinitely!
